The Applegate suits a large household, or a family that hosts constantly. Five bedrooms and three and a half baths inside 2,509 square feet is a tight, disciplined plan, and the efficiency is the achievement: circulation is short and almost nothing is spent on hallway. The main-level guest suite is what makes it work for multi-generational living, or for grandparents who stay for weeks rather than nights. The covered outdoor living stretches the entertaining space through the shoulder seasons.

How clients customize it

Clients often expand the main-level guest suite into a small apartment with its own entry, or convert an upstairs bedroom into a shared study. Extending the covered outdoor living is common, and so is adding a third garage bay for the storage a large household needs. The plan can also gain a walk-in pantry off the kitchen. Finish level rather than footprint usually carries the budget here.
